Lynell George is a Los Angeles-based journalist and essayist. Her work has appeared in various publications including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Sierra, Alta, Smithsonian, and Oxford American. She is the author of three books of nonfiction; the most recent, A Handful of Earth, A Handful of Sky: The World of Octavia E. Butler (Angel City Press), was a Hugo Award finalist in 2021.
